Thoughts on living in a media techno driven culture
It can also be argued that DNA is nothing more than a program designed to preserve itself. Life has become more complex in the overwhelming sea of information. And life, when organized into species, relies upon genes to be its memory system. So man is an individual only because of his own undefinable memory. But memory cannot be defined, yet it defines mankind. The advent of computers and the subsequent accumulation of incalculable data has given rise to a new system of memory and thought, parallel to your own. Humanity has underestimated the consequences of computerization.

FEELING
"I spent my entire youth writing slowly with revisions and endless rehashing, speculation and deleting and got so I was writing one sentence a day and the sentence had no FEELING. Goddamn it, FEELING is what I like in art, not CRAFTINESS and the hiding of feelings."

FM - [ Revisited ]
A fourth term project on memory loss (dementia) and on the deterioration of a person's quality of life. I was never happy with the photography on my model and tonight I decided to "tweak" with it a bit.
This was a traveling exhibit that was meant to spread information on Alzheimer's Disease and offer support for the people that looked after sufferers. Still photography, images, and text, at different opacity settings were layered on panels of acrylic to enhance the effect of "fading memories".
This model was 100% made out of laser cut acrylic pieces and then heat formed..... Heat guns rock! I remember my cousin Aaron helping me on those late nights. Canopies supported by acrylic rods. Fun stuff.
